Subarmalis

The Roman subarmalis was worn as a doublet under the lorica hamata or lorica segmentata in order to distribute the weight over the body and absorb blows, which significantly improves wearing comfort. This subarmalis is made of sturdy cotton canvas and is based on Roman statues and other historical images.
